About the Author

Paulina Kent Dennis was born in Minnesota and has been involved in the theatrical and visual arts for all of her life. She started out as a dancer, moving to New York where she became a choreographer and dance producer She entered Hunter College in New York City to complete her college education. She was mentored in her theater studies by Charles Elson, former Production Director for the Metropolitan Opera. She won a scholarship to Lester Polakov’s School of Theater Design, taught by working professionals in New York. She also has been heavily involved in musical theater and opera, having directed, designed, and/or produced a number of operas and musicals for various companies in the New York City area.

In 2005 she left New York and moved to Mississippi, for family reasons. Moving down to the country of William Faulkner and Eudora Welty renewed her interest in writing. She entered several local contests in Northern Mississippi as a poet and playwright, winning several prizes. She began writing political and religious commentary for a local weekly newspaper, the New Albany News-Exchange, bought by the Daily Journal Company of Tupelo. Her biggest achievement was the publication on the tenth anniversary of 9/11 of a 4,000 word essay, called “The Day The World Fell Down.” It represented her own view and experience of how the tragic terror of that day manifested itself in the daily lives of all Americans. She is an ordained Congregational minister, with special emphasis on Jewish-Christian relations.
