My Dreams Are Bigger Than My Reality My dreams are bigger than my reality. They’ve grown far from their current capacity. Packed with conviction and brazen tenacity, They fill in the white spaces and interpret the gray. They flow through my psyche with such volatility That my hand struggles to capture Their bold proclamation on paper with pen. These dreams and visions redefine The theory of space and time. They carve out new valleys of opportunity and inventiveness. My dreams are not mundane and bland; They are vivid and diverse. My dreams are both true and fictional spontaneously. My dreams are yin and yang. My dreams cannot be inhibited by limitations. They must be free to roam and explore new territory. They plunge deep into the abyss to discover the unknown. They transcend dimensions to galaxies foretold. Their constant evolution is a never-ending quest. They are driven to thrive, And they thrive to survive, For my dreams are bigger than my reality.

About the Book

Excerpts from an Abstract Mind is a poetry collection about the chance encounters, lessons learned, and ideologies acquired by author Ewana Hines as she plays witness from the sidelines of life. She tells stories about a frightening Ouija board and a caged lion that yearns to be free, but she also delves into philosophy and personal battles. For instance, there are times in this mad life when we must run and other times when we must stand and fight. Ewana enumerates the importance of trying while asking questions and then answering them. The book is a passionate tango between fervent beliefs and carnal flesh. At times, it dances past political correctness on its path toward the priceless treasure of love for self, the Lord, and our fellow human. About the Author
Ewana Hines is an active member of the Academy of American Poets and a Virginia Commonwealth University alumna. She was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, but moved to Tampa, Florida, in 2011, where she was inspired to write her first poetry book.
