About the Author

The date was February Twenty-second Nineteen Eighty-one, she was born and named Sandra L. Durham in Oaklawn, Illinois. Her first name came from her Aunty Sandy. Sandra, Sandy as a nickname, is the fifth child born to Stephen K. Durham and Anita I. Durham. In Tinley Park, Illinois, they all lived together for years before the parents divorced. The majority of the family stayed in Illinois; while Anita, Franki, and Sandy moved to South Carolina. Sandy?s grandmother, grandfather and uncle live there. Sandy and her Dad?s mother, Mary E. Durham, wrote poetry to one another. They sent it back and forth for many years, sharing their lives together. Mary E. Durham has had many of her poems published. Sandy is striving to follow in her path.

Sandy has received her inspirations from everywhere. Her son, Jason M. Smith, Jr., is her greatest inspiration. Her emotions have been enlightened by all of her family, along with Hip-Hop music, other poetry, money, society, politics, and from her living on through life. Her natural ability to clearly write has made her an enchanting writer. With her gift from above, she plans to create a collection of poetry books and musical albums for everyone to enjoy.
