About the Book

A former mental patient helps an addicted homeless man recover a life he thought lost. In the process he develops a relationship with a novice psych nurse (the antithesis of Nurse Ratchet) but first he must cross the borders of the states, nay, the countries of the mind and their parched deserts, flooded deltas, and threatening crags.

About the Author

Frederick E. Von Burg has enough varied experiences of success and failures to give him his insights into the world of the addicts and mentally ill that he writes about. Born in Biel, Switzerland, he remembers a journey across war-torn Europe to catch one of the last passenger ships to the U.S.A. So began his experience of countries and states of mind. He and his wife live on Long Island, NY.
