Special appreciation is given to my family, friends, and those that have crossed over.

About the Author

Mr. Quinton Douglass Crawford is currently a substitute teacher for the Travis Unified School District, The Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District, working towards a credential, and author of several books. He was born in Edwards AFB, California (near Los Angelos). Throughout his childhood years, he lived on U.S. Air Force Bases in Spain and England; shorter amounts of time in New York, South Carolina, Philadelphia, and now back in California for the majority of his life so far. Prior to residence in Fairfield, California he resided in Travis AFB. Recently, he worked in the nation of Ghana for 8-months as a volunteer teacher trainer in the rural community of Sefwi-Wiawso. (Volunteer Org. International Foundation for Education and Self-Help (2007/08). He has a B.A. degree in Social Science from Chapman University, and other degrees, but Solano Community College led the major part of his life choice direction to be an educator. He was sprung into student leadership, met great people, and had interesting job experiences; one of which gave him a true sense of teaching on the other side of the table. The most important experiences that has motivated him were from the last day of school in the first elementary school he worked in (Suisun Elementary). Weeks before the last day of his contract with the school in the 1999/2000 school year, he pleaded with the supervisor of the state program (CalSoap Success Consortium) and the principal to allow him to remain and focus his assistance towards a specific group of 5th grade students on the edge of life perceptions of success and failure. There was one student in particular (Ms. Ashley S.) late in the year 2000, that he was extremely concerned about. She was beginning to believe in an extremely limiting conception of herself. He saw that she was on a path to either failure of the grade and continual self-degrading low expectations, or towards the honor roll and leadership potential that he envisioned her becoming. He worked overtime with her and some other children to improve their academics, aspirations towards college, and perceptions of themselves. On the last day of school, the children told him that they would not of passed 5th grade without his help. In his early years, some racially discriminatory comments made against him during his Elementary, Middle School, and High School years helped motivate his decisions to become an educator, social justice activist, and author. The quote “Success is the Best Revenge” has been on his mind most of his life. The only hindrances have been access and adequate information, which has slowed many of his life objectives. He is very proud to of been raised in his family, although he never got to build one of his own. He cares about each child he gains the ability to teach as his own, whether he works with kindergartners, fourth graders, all the way up to High School seniors. The creation of his books and websites are led by his desire to be teaching everyone 24/7 for the benefit of making a better future exist. He firmly believes that it is the purpose of each generation to make the world a better place for the next generations. A great series of friends and experiences have also encouraged him. Persons that he had the honor of meeting while he was a student leader in Solano Community College such as; Khalid Muhammad, Al Gore, Jesse Jackson Sr., Magic Johnson, Prof. Manu Ampim, and others have all inspired him. A great deal of the aspiration towards the development of his books goes to Greenpeace, The Earth Charter, The Ausar Auset Society, NAACP, A-APRP, Soka Gakkai International, and others mentioned in honor within the book.
