About the Book
These are coming of age stories whether the characters portrayed are in seventh grade, seniors in high school, productive adults or senior citizens in a retirement home. Whether we are the young learning to face life or the elderly learning to face death we are all continually coming of age.
About the Author
Jim Connor was born in Detroit, Michigan, and after military service, attended St. John?s University, earning degrees in English and Special Education. He moved to Atlanta, Georgia in 1972, and he and his wife, Judie, presently live in Marietta, Georgia. They have one daughter, Susan, who lives in Henderson, Nevada. Since his retirement in 1995 he has been a free lance writer of short stories and essays.
He is a frequent essay contributor to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and is the two-time winner of The Sassafras Literary Award for short stories. He has published seven short stories in the O Georgia annual, Volumes I, II, III and IV. Among them ?The Troll Under the Bridge,? ?The Trumpet Man,? and ?More Than Just Your Arms.? He is presently working on a series of short stories describing one particular neighborhood and the coming of age of the young persons who live there.
Along the way he has decided that retirement is, indeed, all that it is cracked up to be.
