Dear Diary is not the typical adolescent pablum to be spoonfed to adults. Instead, it is a serious compilation of the tumultuous thoughts and feelings often experienced by teenagers.

Veteran high school teacher Karen De La Vergne and over 40 high school students bring the message home through prose, poetry, photographs, and artwork. Refusing to take the simple write-a-quick-essay route, they use a diary format to do some serious searching through the maze of problems that teenagers face:
