M. Louise Smith is native Texan, a heritage that surfaces in many of her novels. Her creative background includes advertising and marketing for a large Texas corporation, commercial interior design, and exhibiting her Raku clay sculptures in Texas and Colorado galleries. She and her husband reside in Loveland, Colorado.
