About the Book

We never imagined we were sharing a spiritual journey. Yet we were and are on similar spiritual quests, albeit walking different pathways.

Look beyond what eyes can see.

Faith takes you past eternity.

The torches flame on mountaintops

lighting up the seeker's way.

We walk on different roads

carrying our different loads,

but we all look to heaven when we pray.

JER & CAL

All people, if they will look, will find a spark of the Divine somewhere inside their beings.

About the Authors

Janet E. Rose, a Conservative Jew, grew up in New York City. By example, her parents taught her to love fine literature and to value her Jewish heritage. After graduate school, she married Arthur Rose, a man of wide and exceptional gifts. With their daughter and son, they participated successfully in international spacemodeling. In addition to writing poetry, Janet?s pleasures include painting, photography, and computer art.

Janet and Arthur moved to Phoenix, Arizona in 1995. There, when Janet began working in a dental office as an administrative assistant, she met Connie. They became dear friends when they discovered that they shared a deep commitment to the spiritual aspects of their religions.

Connie A. Ladwig, a Born Again Christian, was born in Florida and grew up in a small town in Wisconsin. After graduation from high school and working at several jobs, she married Tom Ladwig and they have three sons and several grandchildren. Since moving to Phoenix, Arizona, Connie has worked in the dental field.

Connie expresses her love for G-d and humanity in all she does, in music, in dance, in healing, through word and touch. In 1983 her spirituality was enhanced by deeply felt experiences which she began to express in poetry and song.

In time, Janet and Connie became certain that their poems should be combined in one book. This would be their contribution to a positive interfaith dialog, showing that mutual understanding is possible between people of differing beliefs.
