About the Book

To survive a life-long quarrel with authority-and come out the winner-takes luck.

Was it really just luck that took Irv Zuckerman from a Depression-era childhood in a Brighton Beach rooming house, through a life that should have ended at 20 in a French forest, to the boardrooms of some of the world's mightiest corporations and beyond? Or was it something else-a series of marvelous coincidences unexplainable by any rational means?

Unlike his previous books, HIRE POWER (Putnam/Perigee 1993) and Guide for the Pissed-Off Job-Seeker (iUniverse, 2004), Just My Luck? is not a how-to book. Zuckerman makes it clear that-to this date, even he is not sure how it all happened.

About the Author

A life-long quarrel with authority led Irv Zuckerman to form a management consulting organization dedicated to the principle that no established procedure is sacred. His first book, HIRE POWER, exposed the methods that corporations make in hiring decisions and taught the reader the six steps that guaranteed a successful job search. In the seven years Putnam listed the book, no one claimed the money-back guarantee. His most recent work, Guide for the Pissed-Off Job-Seeker, showed how anger at being fired could be converted to the energy needed to land another job. Just My Luck? sums up the life of a dyslexic kid who hated every form of education only to become a teacher to thousands. Irv and his wife, Claire, a novelist, live in Westchester.
