About the Book
The night before he left his beloved New York on his latest journey, he dreamt of many strange things. Max awoke in a cold sweat. He knew this was an omen, an omen relating to what?
With the purchase of a venerable scroll from double-crossing Arabian bandits nearly complete, Max William York, the adventurous director of a New York consulting firm, will have to use all of his knowledge to escape with the aged parchment-and his life.
Max's journey to discover the meaning of the scrolls takes him and his cohorts from the Sahara Desert to the heart of Australia, where an encounter with an aborigine tribe leads to lives taken in self-defense. In retaliation, Max and his party are hunted by a thousand wrathful tribesmen. While Max is fleeing for his life during a fierce storm, he takes refuge in a tree. Through a quirk of Mother Nature and a spectacular lightning storm, Max is reborn an aborigine "spirit" and instantly gains respect from the tribe.
No longer hunted, Max and the tribe learn from each other the unrestricted value of visions, faith, life, and death. But will they ever learn the precious secret of the scroll?
