About the Book
The idea for this book came from a desire to help people recognize that children's sports were becoming too negative. I have coached and attended many children's soccer, basketball, and softball games. I couldn't help but notice the tension and frustration of the parents and other coaches. They vented their frustration on the young players by yelling instructions and criticisms, hoping it would produce better results. As an athlete myself, I remember the negative effect that this kind of behavior had on my teammates and me. I wanted to remind people that if we show children love and respect in their athletic efforts, the experience will be a positive one for everyone involved. In this book, I will take you through several personal experiences in sports and share with you what I have learned from them.
