About the Author
John Langdon Brooks is Division Director of Biotic Systems and Resources at the National Science Foundation in Washington, D.C. Before joining the Foundation he was on the faculty of Yale University in the Department of Biology for 25 years. He is the author of numerous scientific publications in the field of ecology and evolution.
