About the Book

The Fantatic is a comic novel about religious fanaticism, concerning a foolish professor whose misguided quest for sainthood in two religions at the same time leads to turmoil and disaster. It is a theological variant of the Don Quixote theme, whose hero mixes goodness with foolishness, religious enthusiasm with mindless stupidity, and who drives his earth-bound wife to adultery and deception.

About the Author

James Lawson has written 11 novels, numerous screenplays, plays, newspaper articles, TV commercials, a TV special for PBS and the trailer for the movie, "Star Wars." He lives in New York City with his wife, Katharine, a professor of pediatrics at Einstein College of Medicine, and their two children, Victoria and Nicholas, both students.
