About the Book
"These are stories in which obliquity is of the essence. They come on us as quietly as innocent-looking assassins in an alley, they slipinto the ribs like knives while we are watching the smiler's face. For surely Rebecca Kavaler is a smiler with a knife under the cloak." writes Wallace Stegner of this first winner of the Associated Writing Programs' Award Series for Short Fiction.
Chosen by a distinguished group of fiction writers, The Further Adventures of Brunhild portrays the complex world of family relationships with cool precision and unsentimental understanding.
