About the Book
I hope this guy is in disguise, I thought to myself as I stared at him. He was wearing a purple shirt, green pants, orange socks and blue tennis shoes. He was also wearing a red ball cap with a chicken feather sticking out the top. A man dressed like that had to be in disguise. He may have been in disguise, but certainly not undercover. He was brighter than a neon sign. Even by 1970's standards, he was pretty extreme.
This begins a series of misadventures for Slick Townsend as he hires Henson and Sloan, a pair of bumbling detectives, to help on a special case. Slick has met a waitress at a local pizza shop, and it's love at first sight. The problem facing Slick is that he doesn't know if the waitress is married, or has a boyfriend. He hires the detectives to find out that information, and to generally "help me get in good with her." The detectives bring along a variety of associates, including Holmes, who claims to be a descendant of the famous Sherlock Holmes. They also encounter space aliens, Elvis, Bill Clinton, and an odd assortment of other characters.
