Set in Franco’s Spain in the early 50’s, A River of Lions follows the adventurous exploits of Parker Todd, a young Bostonian as he is seduced by the “Un-American” sport of Bullfighting.
About the Author
Patrick Cunningham, a native of Philadelphia, has truly lived a life of adventure. Educated at Kent State University, The Sorbonne, and the University of Southern California, Mr. Cunningham was briefly a professional boxer, taught archery and fencing to movies stars, was a stuntman in Hollywood, and owned a bar in Santa Monica. He explored the Amazon River from the headwaters to Belem, fished lobster, and dove for abalone off the shores of California. His several years living in Europe included not only running with the bulls at Pamploma, but by becoming one of the few Americans to fight bulls in Spain. A River of Lions is a fictional account surrounding his bullfighting adventures. Mr. Cunningham currently lives in Santa Monica, CA.
