About the Book
It was with a sense of astonishment that Patrick Foxen, who had been working with machinery for years, suddenly realized that the organs of his own body and the machines with which he had been dealing performed the same type of work and, in many cases, performed it in the same manner. Intrigued by this personal discovery he began researching the subject and eventually became convinced that the human body is a machine, or more correctly an assembly of smaller machines, in the literal sense of the word. His research also revealed that while many books have been written either about the human body or machinery, the books all treated each subject separately and did not compare them with one another. These were the discoveries that led to the writing of this book. The subject matter is presented in an informal style from a quietly religious standpoint. This book should provide interesting, informative and thought-provoking reading for both casual readers and students. Mr. Foxen has written another article, PLANE DOWN, An Aleutian Island Experience, relating a personal WW II event. The author is an engineering graduate from the University of Southern California.
