About the Book

Mother can be viewed as a gem of priceless treasure. A treasure priceless, as one cannot purchase even in today's society, a "ready-made" person with all the facets Mother has. One must evolve from the shaping a long life gives, just as a gem is shaped and evolved into its own configuration that will allow its facets to best demonstrate the gem. One can never be sure if one has viewed all the facets Mother has to demonstrate. But one can be sure from viewing poetry presented by Mother, one has viewed a facet of her that demonstrates what a gem of priceless treasure Mother is!

George O. Hall Jr.
(Firstborn and eldest son of Opal and Oliver Hall)

Growing up as one-of-six children of Opal Hall, I can, in all confidence, tell you about the real person. She is just that; "Real." Mom is the genuine article, an authentic, and bona fide for real-deal. I've seen most of the heartaches and struggles she has had to go thru over the past fifty years, and I can attest that she always met hardships in exactly the same way: she trusted in her God, unequivocally and irrevocably. She believes, prays long, and during her ninety-one years, has experienced God's presence in a way that most of us would envy.
To best describe her poetry, I would have to say it was as if she had touched the hem of God's garment, and the words of her poetry were the best way she could find to share His presence with the rest of the world.

J. Naaman Hall
(Fourth son of Opal and Oliver Hall)

Mrs. Opal Hall is an intercessor, counselor, and gifted writer. Her previous writings have received enthusiastic acceptance, and many are awaiting her next publication with anticipation. I heartily recommend Ms. Hall's writings as an inspiration to all.

About the Author

Opal Lesher Hall turned ninety-one years old on December 22, 2006 and is still very active in writing poems, songs and books. She is one of thirteen children born near Cavalier, North Dakota to Harry Barclay Lesher and Ina Edith (Hawk) Lesher.

While attending Glad Tidings Bible Institute, she met her husband, Rev. G. Oliver Hall Sr. She went into evangelistic work before she married on February 29, 1942 in Boonville, Missouri, then she and her husband did both pastoral and evangelistic work in the California, North Dakota, Missouri and Texas regions.

They had six children, four boys and two girls?all of whom attended college in the Texas area. Her greatest loss in life was the death of her husband in 1968, but despite her enormous grief, managed to raise all of her children on her own while continuing her preaching and writings in her spare time.

Though she may officially be retired as a minister, she continues to remain active in her writings and prayer. As her main focus is prayer, she spends much time alone with God, as well as others who call her on the phone or will come to her house to pray.

Prayer and writing poems has been a part of her life since she was very young. When growing up on the farm, she would kneel down and pray in the corn patch, in the barn, the garage, up in her room, or even walking home from school. She would have her younger siblings go out to the two rows of beautiful willow trees in the back yard and they would have a season of prayer. May you be blessed as you read from this well seasoned prayer warrior and poet.
