About the Book

The Fantastic Muse is a collection of twenty-one great stories including fiction, fantasy, and some based on interesting true experiences. These stories can be enjoyed by young and old alike. Their plots will hold the reader's attention throughout. The author's stories strongly reflect the style of one of his favorite writers, William Sidney Porter, better known as "O.Henry", and his surprise endings.

The main story, The Fantastic Muse, begins quietly in a small college environment where a young college professor and the beautiful daughter of the dean of the English department fall in love. The reader is lulled into a pleasant, soothing small town setting and the tender affections of the two young people. Just as the reader has sat back and relaxed the plot suddenly take a twist that jars the reader from his complacency.

About the Author

Ray Stieffel has always had a keen interest in writing, whether imaginative fiction or true stories. He has won several awards from the Gulf Coast Writers Association with some being published. He now lives in Diamondhead, MS with Ann, his wife of fifty four years.
