Richard J. “SARGE” Garwood, retired Sergeant Major of the West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Department in Port Allen, LA., is a columnist for the Westside Journal and was twice honored as the “Best Regular Columnist” by the Louisiana Press Association. He, his wife and youngest son live in Erwinville, LA.
