About the Author

Marcus Cates fell in love with poetry as an undergraduate student at Harvard where he earned an AB. After receiving a Master of Divinity from Yale, he enjoyed a successful career in university fundraising. He recently underwent alcohol treatment at Hazelden in Chicago, Illinois, where he lives with his wife Debby.
