About the Book

Beyond Boundaries-Reflections of Indian and U.S. Scholars documents experiential learning of exchange scholars from India and the U.S.A. These essays from Fulbright Scholars, Post-Doc Researchers, Humphrey Fellows, and participants of International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP), and East-West Center, provide a diverse spectrum of their cultural and academic experiences.

The personal essays in this collection are interesting, shocking, and unforgettable. Anyone interested in studying in the United States or going to India ought to read this book for it provides a rare perspective that comes from observing a country from the students' point of view. Here, students learn, share and make the connections that go on to the making of a better and safer world for us and for future generations.

While these essays do not necessarily present a representative picture either of India or the U.S.A., the sketches do describe exchange experiences of interest to anyone who is concerned with people, cultures and diversity.

About the Author

Zeeshan-ul-hassan Usman received his Bachelors and a Masters in Computer Science with academic distinctions. Zeeshan has authored dozens of articles and two books entitled C/C++ with Object-Oriented Programming and USA: My Fulbright Experience published in 2001 and 2005. He has also edited several books, including: Experiencing America: Through the Eyes of Visiting Fulbright Scholars. He has recently finished his Masters in Computer Science from Florida Institute of Technology and currently working towards his PhD in Computer Science at the same University as a Fulbright Scholar.

Nibir K. Ghosh, D.Litt., teaches English at Agra College, Agra, India. A Senior Fulbright Fellow (2003?04) at the University of Washington, Seattle, he is the author of Multicultural America: Conversations with Contemporary Authors (2005) and Calculus of Power (1997). He has edited two poetry anthologies: Poetic Miscellany (2002) and Spectrum of Poetic Sensibility (2001). A former Executive Member of the Board of Directors, American Studies Research Center, Hyderabad, he is the Chief Editor of Re-Markings, a biannual journal of research in English. He has lectured on American and South Asian literatures at many campuses in India and the United States.
