About the Book
Oliver Worthy was an orphan. He never knew his mother or father; never had his own bike; or for that matter, even had a chance to ride one. All he had was a miserable existence in a miserable place called Shawshank's Serenity Home for Boys. A day in the life of Oliver Worthy was as exciting as...watching the bell toll.
Awakened from a terrifying dream Oliver screams. He is cold and wet with a large bruise in his side. Later that day, two deadly wolves mysteriously appear at the Home, almost killing his only friend, Skeeter Turner. Oliver, lying in his bed, tightly holds an old pendant, the only thing of value he had ever owned. Remembering his dream...he disappears!
Underwater, gasping for breath, he is saved by an unlikely rescuer...a sarcastic, Troll named Grolan. Caught up in a world of creatures believed to be fantasy, Oliver pieces together an improbable past and an impossible future.
As he races back and forth between worlds, a dark, unseen force is trying to kill him. He discovers a world of wondrous people and creatures: the slightly absentminded Pixie, Daisy, who mysteriously ends up with most of the right answers following all of the wrong paths; and the steady, beautiful Brie, who helps Oliver navigate the strange and new world.
