About the Book
In my book, Basin and the Deadfall Dance, the usage of the word basin refers not only to a pleasurably visual, physical locality in the Treasure state of Montana where I worked and played on an expansive, remote, horse and cattle ranch, but also to the entirety of Soul, much like a basin, which empties periodically so that it may be refilled afresh.
Basin and the Deadfall Dance is a true account, from my perspective, of my experiences while employed (and unemployed) at the ranch. It includes the personal, emotional, notes of a friend, "mountain man" Bob Johnson of Clyde Park, Montana, and his face to face encounter with a seasoned grizzly bear in the bloody heart of the basin. Basin and the Deadfall Dance is a collection of prose, thoughts, and poetry by the author.About the Author
