Munitions magnate T.B. Wallace has manipulated politicians, run joint operations with America's enemies, and made millions on the war in Vietnam. But it just wasn't enough. Despite a lifetime of promoting war, he has never actually witnessed it. Captive to his curiosity, he decides to host a war of his own at The Ranch.

Using his inexhaustible resources, he acquires five hostages as his pawns. Hell bent on survival, they plot and scheme against one another while taking the reader on a wild ride through the rise and fall of Nazi Germany, the Troubles in Northern Ireland, and the war in Vietnam. When the smoke clears, you won't know whether to laugh or cry.

War News from The Ranch is a political satire that raises serious questions about the role of the military-industrial complex in the formulation of U.S. foreign policy. And those who look hard enough just might see Iraq, instead of light, at the end of the tunnel.

About the Author

Born in Norfolk, Virginia in 1957, Michael T. Mitchell is a humanitarian who has devoted much of his adult life to the study of war, and why our species seems incapable of rising above it. Primarily a short story writer, War News from The Ranch is his first novel. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Political Science, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts. His retriever, Memphis, is fluent in the English language.
