About the Book
Ever visit one of those neighborhoods where everyone knows each other, where you can borrow a tool, a book, a cup of flour -- or maybe a cup of blood?
To save their centuries-old heritage of togetherness, the urban enclave of Little Carpathia needs a film to be made to sell some property to a prominent condo developer.
Enticed by the beautiful Helga with her sea-green eyes, filmmaker Lazlo Goldman accepts a commission from the Carpathians. A biker gang, the Carpathian Gypsies, is the neighborhood’s private patrol and will act as “security” for the production. Nervous about the project, Lazlo asks his friend, Jake Horvak, to join the film crew.
After serving as a Ranger in the U.S. Army and then in “Black Ops” for the C.I.A., Jake Horvak has made a new, quiet life for himself as an insurance investigator in his hometown of Steelport. Jake accepts Lazlo’s offer.
A gruesome conspiracy and circle of deadly events begins to close around the film crew, forcing Horvak to dredge up his old skills – and personal demons. The lethal, explosive conclusion rampages through the night streets of Steelport as Little Carpathia battles for its existence.
