About the Book
She was young and green when she followed her husband's dream of moving out west. They settled in Squaw Rock, Idaho in 1871 trying to live a peaceful life and enlisting the Homestead Act of 1863. Yet, now Minnie Begley finds herself without a family, her husband and son murdered in cold blood, and in the center of a land war. A beleaguered woman, a powerful land baron, a dashing young cowboy, and a small town are all caught up in this war. Taking sides, taking chances and standing up for herself and all the women of the west, Minnie Begley will come face to face with some of the most savage cowpunchers the west has to offer. And somewhere amidst all this violence, love and heartache, she will prove that a woman is just as tough as a man and that the spirit of the west is tough to tame.
About the Author
Matt Cole was born in Oberlin, Ohio yet grew up in Central Florida. Most of his many heroes growing up as a boy rode horses and saved damsels in distress. They wore white hats and shot six guns. He hopes that now his son, Logan will share his boy hood dreams. Matt is married to a lovely young woman named Stephanie. And despite the rumors it was she who saved him from distress. Matt and his family still reside in Central Florida with dreams of retiring to the West someday. Matt is also about to complete another of his goals in life by finishing his Bachelor's degree. This is his first (of many) novels, he hopes.
