About the Book

Every Day's a Holiday is a quick-reference mini-unit and activity book for teachers. It's designed for use by classroom teachers, curriculum coordinators, and principals. Each mini-unit can be readily converted into a workable lesson plan.

As a practicing educator, you are well aware of the excitement that can be generated in the classroom when holidays, festivals, and special days are imaginatively observed. The celebration or remembrance of a special event, historical anniversary, or birthday can also become a catalyst for integrating positive citizenship themes—such as patriotism and appreciation for our rich cultural heritage—into the instructional program. About the Author

Abraham Resnick is a noted author and educator specializing in social studies education. A retired professor at Jersey City State College he also served as Director of the Instructional Materials Center at Rutgers University Graduate School of Education. In 1975 he received that school's Alumni Award for Distinguished Service to Education.

The author enlisted in the armed forces during World War II and served as a weatherman in the United States Army Air Corps.
