About the Book

In HighTecHobo: Stories From a Year in the Passing Lane, Donavon Guyot illuminates the balance each of us is forced to strike as we come to grips with the role technology plays in our lives. Through a collection of allegorical short stories, strung out over a single pivotal year of personal struggle and growth, Donavon gives us a taste of life as a HighTecHobo. By sharing stories that are by turns both heartwarming and comical, the author deals with the disillusion that encroaches on our lives as time inevitably marches on, by unlocking a childish fascination with discoveries earned through the wisdom we accumulate along the way.

About the Author

Donavon Guyot lives in La Jolla, CA where he is the Information Systems Architect for www.Active.com, "The World's Leading Online Registration and Active Lifestyle Web Site!" He was raised in Woodhaven, MI and holds an MA in Rhetorical Communication Theory and an MS in Information & Communication Science from Ball State University in Muncie, IN. Donavon has held technocommunication related positions with Deloitte & Touche Consulting in New York, NY and MediaOne Labs in Boulder, CO. In addition to carving out time for writing, Donavon remains active in the sport of triathlon where he earned a Junior National Championship and spent time in residence at various Olympic Training Centers.
