Words From My Heart

Poetry not only comes from the heart, it also emanates from the inner most confines of one's soul. They are a magical force that can express what is sometimes hard to say when it involves things that cannot be seen, or intricate feelings that are internally kept. They can even make an unheard thought or hidden feeling visible. Poetry can be intimate and passionate, joyful and sad, even spiritual and inspiring. But whether good or bad, they can make you realize that when it comes to affairs of the heart, no one is ever singled out. Love is essential in our lives and the key to true happiness is learning how to love yourself. When you have truly learned that lesson, only then will you be able to learn how to love and appreciate someone else.

The Poetic Works of Cecil A. Phillips Sr. contains some of my best works to date, and were written from the heart with love in mind. I hope its content will touch every reader's heart and help them to understand that everyone who falls in love sometimes get hurt and that it isn't love that causes the heart to break, instead, it is love that will heal a broken heart.-Cecil A. About the Author

Cecil A. Phillips Sr. born in Antigua, West Indies, immigrated to the United States in 1967. In his youth, he was inspired by the romantic side of life and developed a passion for poetry, graphic art & music, considering them enjoyable and creative outlets for relaxing and finding inner peace. After living in San Diego, California for many years, the former military service member now resides in New York City. He is vigorously studying computer graphics.
