About the Book

Poems have a strange habit of appearing unexpectedly and in out-of-the-way places. There may be one growing in that patch of weeds near the cemetery, waiting to be plucked. Perhaps there is a poem, even now, thriving on the verdigris of a mausoleum door. And by all means, listen closely to that squeaky hinge, there might just be a clever verse feeding off the bleeding rust. Poems, from these as well as other locations, have been harvested and pressed between the pages of Dark Passages. Dark Passages explores isolated regions of the past, present and future. Deserted cities, graveyards, jungles, windswept moors, islands, deserts, alien worlds and perhaps the most isolated locale conceivable, the human mind. The imaginative situations presented in Dark Passages illustrate the ephemeral nature of life as well as the brittle quality of that slippery psychological construct known as sanity.

About the Author

Ed May graduated from the University of Colorado in 1981 with a B. S. in Aerospace Engineering. He is the author of Bridge of Sighs and Other Stories and Come October? He resides in Colorado with his wife and two sons.
