In ten stories, ranging in style from the quotidian to the surreal, our foolish heroes must ask themselves who they are, who they want, and who they want to be. The answers are somewhere in the space between image and reality, memory and dream; somewhere in the distance that separates our aspirations from our identities.

A lonely political idealist dreams of revolution: will she ever change the world? Or is she doomed to a mundane life of coffee, misdemeanors, and frustrated crushes?

In a skewed post-colonial dystopia, a half-breed falls afoul of the cultural purity police. Which part of her identity must she betray?
