About the Book

Inspired by a true story, Just One Life continues the life journey of Mary Reeder, Prairie Girl. After the death of her mother, being raised by relatives, and struggling to survive on the vast and lonely prairie, she marries. As she and her husband continue to scrape out a living and raise their children, Mary's faith in God and love for her family are the strengths she depends on.

About the Author

Deborah (McGuyer) Strickland was born in Portales, New Mexico, and raised in Ft. Sumner. Growing up, she was a friend and neighbor to the real Mary (Reeder) Jones. Deborah?s parents were the McGuyers mentioned in the last chapter of the book. Deborah teaches fourth grade at Abilene Christian School in Abilene, Texas, and both of her children teach in Texas. She has published one other book, Mary Reeder, Prairie Girl, which is the ?prequel? to Just One Life. She has also written poetry, songs, and short stories.
