About the Author
Dr. Phyllis Baker is an Associate Professor of Sociology at Miami Dade College and teaches Myth, Ritual and Mysticism at Florida International University. She lives in the South Florida Area and during the summer months she resides in Northampton, Massachusetts. She was recently recognized in the Miami Herald as a Phenonomenal Faculty Member of Miami Dade College. Her book Africa-American Spirituality, Thought & Culture, traces her historical roots and personal and professional understanding of herself and her culture.
