About the Book
This inspirational memoir is a testament to how an ordinary person with a few extraordinary experiences and challenges can become a cleric at a time when many in the clergy did not welcome females.
Raised on two continents, author Marta Sutton Weeks describes her road to the seminary against the backdrop of a family that has been caught up in Mormonism and non-Mormonism. She details her re-awakening to a God she remembers only dimly from childhood. Along the way, she tells how she experiences an unanticipated revelation relating to her husband, a father-in-law who preaches about saving energy long before any liquid fuel crises, and a dedicated spiritual director who always seems to ask the right questions.
Weeks invites you along on her spiritual journey and tells how she found God-or maybe how God found her. Our Lord Was Baptized, You Know: Reflections on a Spiritual Adventure takes you through the labyrinth of academia, seminary, the business world, her adventures and misadventures, as well as some heartfelt and unexpected triumphs. From Antarctica to Russia, Panama to Utah, Atlanta to Paris-and with the aid of a helpful heavenly friend now and then-Our Lord Was Baptized, You Know speaks to our times.
