About the Book

In her late sixties, Judith Carter is looking for more than love and companionship from her new husband, Vince Strohm, a man twenty years older than she. A wealthy widower, Vince dotes on his two dogs, Charmin and Tiger, in his upscale home in Palm Springs, California. It doesn't take long for Vince to suspect that Judith's marriage intentions may not have been sincere.

Not long after the wedding, Judith's son, Leo, who is constantly in debt to loan sharks, arranges for his mother and stepfather to be robbed. Then, Judith and Leo conspire to get rid of Vince's precious pets while he is out of town visiting his daughter.When Vince is hospitalized after a fall in his home, Judith arranges for him to undergo a needless major surgery.

As Judith schemes her way into Vince's wealth to secure a comfortable future for her and her son, her plans may just cost Vince more than his fortune. Soft Crime explores the lengths to which people will go for greed and the love of money.
