WILLIAM HAIRSTON: Author, Playwright and Poet, has had seven books published (G.P. Putnamýs, and visit www.iUniverse,com, www.1stbooks.com, Barnes & Noble.com or Amazon.com). His plays have been produced in NYC, Washington, DC and North Carolina. His poems have been published in many anthologies and magazines. He developed, published and edited the Washington, DC government employees newspaper (40,000 Monthly circulation). He was National News Editor and Correspondent for the DNC Presidential Campaign of 1968. He wrote movie and TV scripts for the U.S. Information Agency (Including Apollo-11 Man On The Moon). He was the recipient of a NEA Literary Grant and a Ford Foundation Theatre Fellowship. He won The Groupýs Theatre Best Playwrights Award. He was a featured actor in MGMýs TAKE THE HIGH GROUND, and the leading actor in HARLEM DETECTIVE, WOR TV, NYC. Hairston is a member of the Dramatists Guild and Authors League and is on the Executive Board of the National Capital Area Council/Boy Scouts of America.
