About the Book

Born in the mid-1970s in the small town of Greenridge, Michigan, Daniel O'Regan enlists in the army after a series of personal tragedies compel him to escape his past. Following a three-year stint in Germany, he opts for a promotion to Special Forces. His work as a demolitions engineer takes him to East Africa, where he finds himself fighting the growing pre-9/11 al-Qaida terrorist threat.

After eight years of service, Daniel chooses to leave East Africa and return to the United States. He finds a job, marries, and joins the Army Reserve. Just as he reaches a point where he is content with his life, his battalion is activated to serve in Iraq. While stationed in there, he accidentally discovers a covert operation that, if revealed, could cause international scandal and further destabilize the Middle East.

Email From Camp Khatar is a story of a Gen X everyman who, when faced with a moral dilemna, finds himself capable of great determination and courage.

Catherine Arslanian was born in Hollywood, California. She currently resides in West Michigan, where she is working on her second novel.
