About the Book
Sooner or later, everyone thinks about God. Doesn't mean they'll run out and buy a book about, but if they did, it might be nice to find one written by a regular person that makes sense. GodSense invites spiritual seekers to challenge, rethink, or defend their position in faith.
Jan Page shares her feelings about God and provides compelling and timeless theories that will encourage others to consider a shared life with God that is real and unique. Page discusses the realities of God versus our expectations and covers such topics as how fear gets in the way of an honest relationship with God, how spirit links us to God and why God does not give specific advice, compensate us, or dictate our purpose in life. Religious tradition can be enhanced when those looking for answers rely on their own common sense to perceive the truth about God for themselves.
As the debates continue long into our future, the passionate ideas included in GodSense will help spiritual seekers create a peaceful life around the awareness that God is with us in a complex and uncertain world.
About the Author
February 21, 2009 I live and write in Moody Beach, Maine. I wanted to write a book about God that makes sense ever since a single experience of God changed my life for the better in 1979. EDUCATION: I received an associates degree in interior design from Chamberlaine Jr. College, in Boston, MA. in 1984. My interest in philosophy and theology led me to Assumption College in Worcester, MA, 1991-93. The classes I attended and the writing assignments helped me to organize and relate my thoughts about God. Still it would be another twelve years before I started writing my book. WORK LIFE: I am employed by McKenzie Engineering Co. Inc. in Leominster, MA. I have worked there since 1983 as an Architectural Designer & Draftsperson. I absolutely love my work and the people I work with. How many people can say that? Four days a week, I commute from Maine to Massachusetts It’s about 180 miles round trip, but it is worth it to live down the road from the beach and to work at a job that I love. HOME LIFE: I fell in love with the "Maine Man,” Christopher Solari, in October of 2007. We live together in a little house down the road from the beach. We plan to be married in the Spring of 2010. Also in house is a pit bull named Roofus. He is my guardian angel. I have two beautiful daughters, Aubree and Joy. I have one brother Kenny, and both of my wonderful parents, Val and Leonard, have died. I have many friends which include (but are not limited to) Susan, who I have known since grade school, Donna and Pam, who along with Susan were my coming of age girlfriends, Terrie, who introduced me to the fine art of homemaking and inspired me to become an interior designer, Lauren, who nurtured me though all of life's challenges and got me to laugh about them in spite of it all, Peter my good friend, my boss, and the one who made all the difference in my life when he hired me, and Margaret, my dear friend and neighbor who restored my life after divorce. Two husbands were part of my past, Richard Lawrence, father of Aubree, with whom I was married 5 years, and John LaStella, father of Joy, with whom I was married twenty-three years. I am busy promoting GodSense at this time, but I have a few other writing projects I'd like to pursue: JURY DUTY: A reluctant jury member on a disturbing murder trial tells the true story of duress and deliverence in fulfillment of her civic duty. I have the first chapter written. (Non-Fiction Narrative) MY BAR FLY: A jilted wife facing divorce gets a wake up call from the universe when she falls in love with a handsome bartender (nine years younger than she) who spins her life round and round in profound and perilous ways. (Memoir) GODSENSE: Readers Write. I'd like to set up my website whereby readers could identify themselves as a theist, an athiest, or an agnostic and comment on their own position in faith. The collection would reveal our diverse perceptions of God. I would respond to challenging questions and issues that are raised.
