About the Author

Emily Blokzyl grew up in Santa Clarita Valley, California. Her favorite hobbies included raising her menagerie of animals and reading. Her frequent trips with her father to his competitive bike races around the state brought her into contact with Death Valley on almost a yearly basis for eight years, and it was there she found inspiration for this book.
