This is about all of the others that are counting on us to protect them. Pandas and monkeys alike are hoping we succeed." She looked at Kira, tears in her eyes. "Even a small little forest fairy has left her forest home behind, just so she could help. If Kira is not willing to give up, then I will never give up." Joey stood up and looked at the rag tag group he was leading, especially Kira. His pride in how hard they had tried swelled in him. He turned toward the rock as everyone watched their leader. Joey slowly walked toward the rock, and reached as high as he could. He started to dig at the dirt above the rock...

About the Author

Rick Patton spends his time away from writing managing a dedicated accounting staff. He spends his personal time with his wife Janet, and daughters Katrina and Kirstin. He collaborated with his 15-year-old daughter, Katrina, on their first book ?A Journey into Imagination? which was published in September 2001.
