About the Author

Joseph F. Hanna lives on an island with his wife and a schipperke. He commutes to work by ferry. His humor column appeared for nearly 20 years in the Sag Harbor Express. Writing for the love of the craft, Mr. Hanna has pursued an unusual sequence of day jobs. He has been a Director of Engineering for a medical products company, a recording engineer, a cabinetmaker, an architectural draughtsman, a storeowner, a special effects technician, an advertising executive, a marketing consultant, a cartoonist and he once toured with a band. His oil paintings have been exhibited throughout the Hamptons.
