About the Book

Remember those things from the kitchen, when you were a kid? They just don't fix them like they use to. These are some of those old recipes, from handwritten notes saved and collected from old kitchens of days long gone. These are tried and true from family reunions to holiday occasions, and including special ways to fix wild game.

About the Author

Born in south Georgia in 1946, Bob Wright’s father was a farmer and his mother a housewife and a farmer, too. In those days, farming was a family operation, and everyone worked as a team. Long hours were the rule. Wright grew up with good old fashion country cooking, attending all-day diners at church reunions and family get togethers. Wright married a young lady from West Texas ranch country and combined old recipes from the south with the frontier West. This book is a collection of hand written notes and recipes from both sides of the family, and from others who shared their recipes from old time kitchens. Having working in West Texas and Mexico, Wright was able to get authentic old recipes from friends on both sides of the Rio Grande. After serving as camp cook on hunting leases, family cookouts and special occasions, Wright was inspired to put these recipes together in hopes others would remember the tastes and flavors of grandma’s kitchen. This labor of love has taken ten years to complete. Wright lives in West Texas with his wife. Their three children and six grandchildren have enjoyed these recipes for many, many years.
