About the Book
This collection of poetry represents different phases of my life and the various emotions and people shaping those experiences . At age 12, I wrote my first poem, “I Never Knew My Father”. It was my way of coping and rationalizing the sadness that sometime ate at my soul. Chapter 1 is dedicated to momma and families losing love ones to dementia. She was and continues to be my inspiration. She died June 23, 2008, four years after being diagnosed with dementia. “Over There” was written November 17, 2004, the day her family was informed of the diagnosis.
I would like for you to take this journey with me through my collection of poetry. Pray, cry, laugh, love , but most of all find peace and embrace simplicity. I did.
