About the Book
The Dude Ranch Rangers is the second of five books in the series, The Sweet Smell of Rotten Eggs.
It is the second year Grandpa and Grandma Christie have invited five of their grandchildren to spend summer vacation on their cattle ranch.
In this second volume the children have adventures involving a forest fire, the rescue of three frightened runaway children, discovery of a mysterious Indian in a cave, finding gold, and the excitement of riding their horses in a parade, with a surprise ending.
As with the first book, there is laughter, sadness, joy, fear, and excitement. Love, fairness, integrity, sharing, and discipline are woven into the adventures of Ronnie, Cami, Tommy, Leah and Janie, with unexpected guests, at The Christie Ranch in Oregon.
About the Author
Now in his eighty first year, Ed Christie has lived a full and varied life. He has been a cattle rancher, merchant seaman, sailor in both the Navy, and Coast Guard having served in WWII and the Korean conflict. For thirty years he was in law enforcement in California, while at the same time, raising cattle. After retiring he became a corporate security supervisor and anti terrorist instructor in South America, North Africa, and Russia (Siberia). He is also a pilot. He began writing fiction stories about his grandchildren after one of them requested he do so. He started to write during long overseas flights. Now retired, he lives in the Oregon forest with his wife, Jane, whom he lovingly refers to as “the war department,” who keeps him on the straight and narrow. Without her help, and encouragement, the stories would never have been published. They have four sons and two daughters who gave them twenty two grandchildren.
