About the Author

Akhtar M. Qassimyar was born in 1956, in Khost province, Afghanistan. After graduating from the School of Medicine at Kabul University in 1981, he fled to Pakistan where he treated Afghan refugees and Mujahideen. He also practiced medicine in Saudi Arabia for eight years. He now lives in San Diego, California.
