About the Author

Ethel Mintzer Lichtman is the granddaughter of Ethel Sturges Dummer, and for much of her life has acted as a volunteer and professional interested in issues related to education and health care. Lichtman received a BA from Stanford University in 1947 and returned to receive an MA in Education from Stanford in 1973. While raising a family she was a dedicated volunteer in the Palo Alto Unified School District, working primarily on issues of primary education and educational leadership. Ms. Lichtman is retired and living in Poway, California.
