About the Book
Let this book help you to know that:
A crisis does not need to destroy you. Worry wrinkles diminish with a clear conscience. Friendships are worth all they cost. A good attitude opens many doors. Cherished memories add spice to life. Smiles do what wrinkles cannot do. Forgiveness creates a healthy body and soul. What you say to yourself can make or break you. Your body is a gift worthy of good care. The upward look brings a Divine Helper.
" …he here brings together lessons from his "prayer of dominant desire." He has answered many a call from church and community, with a humble: Here am I, send me. I cannot think of anyone, regardless of age or station, who will not be enlightened and inspired by reading this book. I am honored to recommend it." -- Rev. O. Gerald Trigg, PhD "What leaves an impression are the experiences of a man with an underlying happy heart, ever glad to be of service to God and others." --Philip Green Jr. "I wrote this book at my age because I felt led to do so. This book has much to say about what God has done through me." --Philip Green Sr.About the Author
Philip was born in September 15, 1914, the son of a United Methodist circuit-riding pastor in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina and was ordained a Deacon and Elder by 1940. He was appointed a pastor of Sandy Circuit of six churches in 1936 and of the Franklin Circuit in 1940.
In 1943 he became a military chaplain during World War II and served in the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force for twenty years, retiring in the grade of colonel in 1963. The chaplains of the Air Force, Army, Navy, and VA, elected him the first Air Force National President of the Military Chaplains Association in 1970.
Shortly after duty at the Air Force Academy, he was invited to become the Associate Pastor of a six thousand-member church in Colorado Springs, CO. During 17 years there he served twice as interim senior pastor. In November 2011, at age 97, the church honored him with the Associate Pastor Emeritus.
Following church retirement in 1983, he started a new congregation, began writing books, and helping God answer his lifelong ‘prayer of dominant desire.’
