She lightens up my lifeless world She lets me know if I need a coat or sweater
I love her even though I never met her
She’s always looking out for me
Can this daydream become a reality?
Does she have a boyfriend already?
I hope the temperatures are holding steady
She’s always on time Through sleet or snow
My love will grow
I’m in love with the TV weather girl
She gives my heart a delightful swirl
She can see forward into the future
She tells the truth even if it don’t suit ya
Will she become mine I keep on praying? I hope the forecast comes up sunny
I hope one day she’ll become my honey
Come rain or shine
She’s always on time

I know it’s not that popular anymore; I know I may be shown the door, But I submit this book of poetry For the whole world to see. I am a very simple man; I try to do the best that I can. My skill level is not that high; I do what I do to get by. We all try to change the world; Sometimes we don’t know where we’re hurled. But wherever that place will be; No one can take these words away from me. We live in an age that is very fast-paced; We all need to slow down—yes, the whole human race. If this book can help you change your mind, Then the rest of the world won’t be far behind. Poems of love and hate, peace and war, and romance I would like to thank you in advance; Thank you for taking the time to read my words; My deepest wish is that they lift you up to fly with the birds.
Aaron Jones was inspired to begin writing poetry through the influence of his brother’s band. As the title of the collection suggests, his verse is set the form of song and is intended to be set to music.
About the Author
Aaron C. Jones was raised in Metairie, Louisiana, and has been writing on and off since the late eighties. More recently, he has been taking care of his mother, Edna, who is eighty-five years young. He currently resides in Madison, Alabama.
